Safety Comes First—Our Track Record Proves It.
From falls, to fire and electrical hazards, safety risks on roofing jobs are everywhere. Our employees are the backbone of our company— and it’s our responsibility to protect them. It’s also our job to safeguard our customers from risk and liability. We’re serious about preventing avoidable injuries and incidents, and we have the track record to back it up.

Mid-South Roof has one of the best safety records in the industry—our recorded injury rate (RIR) is well below industry standard, and we often exceed OSHA’s requirements when protecting our teams. But we don’t let that go to our heads—we know that a serious or fatal injury could happen in the blink of an eye. That’s why we’re always improving processes and procedures to put safety first.

Safety Issues? You’ll Have To Get Past James First.
Before we even accept a project, we identify any hazards on the front end and take that into consideration during the bidding process. Once awarded a contract, our team puts together a site-specific safety plan. Our dedicated Safety Director, James Scogin, performs a detailed analysis of all risks, then meets with the foremen and superintendent to discuss what hazards need to be addressed.

To get to the heart of every safety concern, James asks the hard questions about:

  • Local Hazards
  • Precautionary Strategies
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Fire Prevention
  • Training Qualifications

We’re Serious About Safety Training.

At the end of the day, it’s our shared responsibility to prevent avoidable incidents and injuries on the job. That’s why we take training so seriously. We perform intensive in-house safety training on a yearly basis. Our Safety Director also personally meets with superintendents, personnel, and managers twice monthly to review key safety factors, including:

  • Reporting Procedure
  • Chain of Command
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Injury Prevention
